What is Web Accessibility?
Web Accessibility refers to the practice of ensuring that people with disabilities have equal access to information on the internet. More specifically, it means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web. Web Accessibility also benefits others, including older people with changing abilities due to aging.
Why is Web Accessibility Important?
Millions of people have disabilities that affect their use of the internet. Inaccessible technology interferes with an individual's ability to obtain and use information quickly and easily. Currently most websites have some barriers that make it difficult or impossible for many people with disabilities to navigate or comprehend its content. As more accessible websites become available, people with disabilities are able to use, share and contribute to society and to the economy more effectively.
Why choose Slade Design?
Forty percent of our developers have disabilities and understand the frustrations of using an inaccessible website. Our team has 20+ years of experience working with the disabled community and we understand Section 508, W3C and ADA accessible design principles and recommendations.
Using both automated and manual techniques, we methodically ensure that persons with hearing, visual, mobility, and other disabilities have equal access to internet based information and services.
